These are very beautiful Absinthe cuff links which would look striking on a crisp white shirt. For me they evoke thoughts of the Moulin Rouge, Vincent Van Gogh, Victorian England and of course the Green Absinthe fairy.
Absinthe is a distilled, highly alcoholic, anise-flavored spirit made from a herb called grand wormwood. It is often referred to as la Fée Verte ('The Green Fairy') because of its coloring — typically pale or emerald green. It was popular in late 19th and early 20th century France, particularly among Parisian artists and writers whose romantic associations with the drink still linger in popular culture. At the height of this popularity, absinthe was portrayed as a dangerously addictive, psychoactive drug and by 1915, it was banned in a number of European countries and the USA.
The cuff links measure 22mm long by 14mm wide and will come beautifully gift wrapped in a hard box ready for giving (or simply keeping!).
